Meet the Infant room teachers.
Our child care staff specializes in
Talking in a pleasant, soothing voice
Being attentive to children during routines such as diaper changing, feeding and changing clothes, recognizing each as a learning experience
Quickly responding to infant’s cries or calls of distress in order to develop sense of trust
Adjusting to individual feeding and napping schedules
Designing a cheerful, sanitary and safe environment which is appealing to the child’s senses
Sharing pertinent information regarding the child’s day with parents
Our Infant Room curriculum consists of
One-on-one, playful interactions characterized by gentle, supportive responses
Listening, responding to and imitating sounds that infants make as the beginning of communication
Talking with, reading to and singing to infants
Praising infants for accomplishments thus encouraging a sense of competence
Respecting infants’ curiosity about each other while ensuring that the children are treating each other gently
Modeling the types of interactions they want the child to develop
